Ball Point Ledges and Texada east Canary Point

Had a great couple dives yesterday with Sasha, Andi and Wayne.
We encountered sea lions on the dive at Ball point and you can see ones shadow and Sashas video lights in one of the photos of the sponges.the Vis is getting better by the week.
we could see surface from 100 feet.
The ledges are a great sponge dive as the sponges start in about 57 feet.
On Texada's east shore we saw some smaller Gorgonians at about 110 feet.
A great day on the water.

Ball Point check dives

Sunday Verjall and I went out for a couple Ball Point check dives for upcoming charters.
We found a couple great sites and still have many days of exploring to do. Cloud sponges started in the 70 foot range and were plentiful,  bottom was ledges that just kept going , beautiful rock structure. A fair bit of current was encountered and good buoyancy skills are required to keep from damaging the sponges. Here's a link to some information on sponges.    CLICK HERE
Its great to have the boat back in Saltery for a couple months. The water is clearing up nicely with about 70 feet of vis thats improving quickly.Heres what we saw with the 60 mil macro. First time with a camera in my hands in a long time and going to want to take the dome to do justice to the cloud sponges as the water clarity improves.
